Ukraine's 31st Independence Day
Today, 24th August 2022 marks Ukraine’s independence day.
Today also marks six months since Russian forces invaded the country.

Preceding this have been several days of warnings & speculation, and concern voiced by President Volodymyr Zelensky himself, of an escalation in violence by Russian forces. As such, the city of Kharkiv is under curfew following months of attack.
President Zelensky has delivered a powerful and emotional speech describing Ukraine as
“a nation that did not cry, scream or take fright. One that did not flee. Did not give up. And did not forget” on the night Russian forces attacked in February.
