About the Event

Women in journalism, NGOs and the humanitarian sector face the same security concerns as their male colleagues, however women also face specific risks such as discrimination based on their gender, online bullying, sexual harassment and intimidation.

These attacks pose a challenge for women professionals who may avoid reporting certain stories or withdraw from the profession due to compromised safety. Therefore, this introductory course is tailored to provide basic information on the intersection of safety and gender as it relates to women. We aim to deliver a set of skills that can help develop a woman’s personal safety.

The forum also offers an appropriate setting for women to discuss their problems and challenges. All of the training and workshop discussions and information are treated confidentially under the methodology of ‘Do No Harm’

We are able to provide a number of modular trainings that covers: • Personal Safety including research.
