Security Awareness Fragile Environments (SAFE) training is a specialised program designed to prepare individuals for working in high-risk, fragile environments. These environments include areas that are affected by conflict, political instability, natural disasters, or other factors that can increase the risks to personal safety and security.

The training program is intended to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify potential security threats and to respond appropriately. The program covers a wide range of topics, including personal and group deployment planning, threat evaluation and risk assessment; personal security and conflict management including self-defence; vehicle and travel security; crime mitigation, ballistics, Accommodation Safety, Situational Awareness, mines and IED awareness; navigation, first aid and trauma, dealing with local authorities and factions; Gender Specific Issues and LGBTQ+ considerations, counter terrorism, avoiding and surviving kidnap or loss of liberty; Indirect fire threat, working with security teams, PPE use, living and working in high risk areas, risk assessment, emergency response,  This scenario led course was designed to give UK Government personnel pre-deployment training prior to taking an overseas posting in a fragile or complex environment. Whether the threat is terrorism or crime this 4-day course has enough information and training to provide peace of mind, confidence, and self-protection.

Participants in the SAFE training program learn how to identify potential threats and how to respond to them effectively. This includes learning how to communicate effectively in high-stress situations, how to develop and implement security protocols, and how to manage and mitigate risk.

The training is delivered through a combination of classroom lectures, hands-on exercises, and scenario simulations to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of security risks and how to respond to them.
